BEC is a two-day indie comics festival located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The festival showcases the best creators in indie comics and sequential storytelling in Brooklyn and beyond! BEC is produced by BODEGA Comics, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to working cartoonists and graphic artists in the greater NYC area.

What is BEC?
Where and when does the festival take place?

BEC takes place in the fabled Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church gymnasium and lower level, located at 21-1 Havemeyer St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Festival dates are Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th from 11am to 7pm.

what are the festival jurors looking for in exhibitors?

BEC is a comics-forward event and so preference for exhibition space will be given to creators with new work, working specifically in the medium of comics and/or sequential storytelling. Additional criteria includes but is not limited to technical prowess, diversity of voice and background, and regularity of output. NOTE THAT ANY AI BASED WORK IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM THE FESTIVAL.
when will i find out if i’ve been accepted as an exhibitor?

All applicants will be informed in early June as to whether their application and any table space requests have been accepted.

what are your covid-19 policies?
While there are no current mask mandates in the State of New York, we support elective masking, especially if you are experiencing any symptoms of a respiratory illness (though if you are experiencing symptoms, we encourage you to stay home and get better!).
Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the show floor.
